STEWARDING THE PROPHETIC WORD
I dislike the whole “well maybe I missed it” phrase in the prophetic. There is definitely room for grace as we practice our gifts. But what if we didn’t miss it- and it was not the fault of the messenger but the receiver.
Words MUST be stewarded and even taken into the courts of heaven to be contended for.
As one can say “I missed it” with a humble heart, condemning thoughts or religious spirits can come quickly and people are quick to judge. I’ve been there on the receiving end. The feeling that “I missed it” even when I know clearly what I saw or heard was solid, still brought defeat and lack of credibility.
IT TAKES TWO
A prophetic word is not a one sided deal. If a prophetic word does not come to pass (yet) it does not mean the credibility of the said prophet or person prophesying is bad. It means that some where someone is not stewarding it right.
PROPHETS ARE INTERCESSORS, WE JUST ARE.
We should feel a burden to pray for what you prophesy. We should feel love and compassion for those we prophesy into. We should pray over the words we release into someone. But prophets are intercessors. I think of Jeremiah and Deborah— both Prophets, both intercessors. So I feel that if God trusts us with a prophetic word not only do we release it but we should to pray it out right there and pray into it as He wills.
~~~~~~~
The spoken word/whole book of the Bible is a prophecy. But it took people stewarding and cooperating with the word for thousands of years to bring it to pass.
We know it is God’s divine will. And He will Sovereignly cause it to come to pass.
But ...
If a prophetic voice says what they see and hear in the “now” over your life and you do not change or engage to steward what God gave them for you then that is not the fault of the prophet or one speaking into you.
It’s true that we may not get things exact or fullness and that is because we only prophesy in part. I know my Fathers voice and I know the Holy Spirit so I am confident in those voices.
What I am not confident in is when the word or filter is skewed by bitterness, soul wounds, religious /critical spirits, jealousy, competitiveness, and self promotion.
I can’t even trust myself if any of those are remotely present. This is why Psalm 24 is so important in a prophets life.
Psalm 24:3-6 NKJV
[3] Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? [4] He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. [5] He shall receive blessing from the LORD, And righteousness from the God of his salvation. [6] This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face. Selah
THE LEVEL OF OUR ASSIGNMENT
Our prophetic gifting and assignment will be affected directly by the level of our spiritual altitude, anointing AND character.
Let’s grow in character and humility with faith in our voice and calling - knowing that when we ascend the mountain of the Lord, seeking His face that He will speak and we will be confident in what we are hearing and seeing.
Let us become praying prophets 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
And there is ....
NO CONDEMNATION FOR THOSE (PROPHETS) IN CHRIST JESUS!
I vote we do away with even the thought of saying “maybe I missed it” instead lean in a little closer and ask the Father to speak loud and clear so his will can be done.
Philippians 1:6 NKJV
[6] being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
LET LOVE, KNOWLEDGE AND DISCERNMENT ABOUND
Philippians 1:9-11 NKJV
[9] And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, [10] that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, [11] being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
Let us be good stewards of the words we receive to partner with God in order to see them come to pass. Just saying “AMEN - I receive that” does not mean it will happen. Take it on as an assignment you want to see fulfilled in Jesus’ name.
Blessings 💛
