We often recite the greatest commandment but have you ever noticed what preceded the commandment. Besides love, which compells us to obey, it is the fear of the LORD.

I was reading this today and the beginning of verse 2 jumped off the page at me.

Vs. 2 “...that you may fear the LORD your God,...”

I have been praying more intentionally over the last 12 months regarding the seven spirits of God and this is one of them.

Did you know it was a SPIRIT?

In 2016 I had a powerful encounter in my bedroom with this Spirit. I was not “scared” but instead had a sovereign healthy reverential fear come over me.

That visit changed my life and that Spirit has remained evident in my life.

I recall at the beginning of 2020 feeling this particular Spirit resting on me and remaining for some time and it was often accompanied with a vision or a prophetic word. Empowerment by the Holy Spirit would come, compelling me to release different words over the body of Christ, locally and globally.

I wonder how many people who are releasing prophetic words are actually encountering THE SPIRIT OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD or truly being compelled by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. It’s not a casual thing as many have made it.

This Spirit, The Fear of The Lord, would come and immediately I would feel reverence for Him, His sovereignty, authority and will. It is a type of sovereign terror.

It is a powerful force yet a weighty stillness and I have been praying all year that the Spirit of the Fear of the LORD would enter our hearts once again. I even stated that THE COMING YEARS of THE ROAR WILL BE TO RE-INSTILL THE FEAR of the LORD. (see prophetic word here)

I believe the Spirit of God is speaking loudly about this. I would say “brace yourself” but I think what the Lord is really saying is EMBRACE HIM! He is looking for hearts, homes, churches, cities, regions, and nations to REST UPON!

When we embrace Him that moment and union with the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord is a beautiful and sovereign thing to encounter.

Even though we have the gift of the Spirit of Grace This is also a call to repentance for the Bible says in Hebrews 10:30-31 “For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

Will you be the one this Spirit can visit, remain and rest upon? May we receive all His promises!

When this Spirit comes it puts things in sovereign order. I urge you to position yourself in a posture of humility, surrendering all of your heart to Him so He can arrest you with His love and fear.

Take time today to read the passage in Deuteronomy 6 about The Greatest Commandment. It’s time for the Spirit of the Fear of the LORD to fill our hearts, homes and churches again. Fall on your face and worship Him this day! He is worthy!! Prepare to embrace the Spirit of the Fear of the LORD— He’s coming.

He wants to arrest you for Him and His purposes so that His will can be done on earth as it is in heaven starting in you.

Let us persevere and embrace the beauty of His sovereignty.

Jude (KJV)

20But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Hebrews 10 (KJV)

37For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

38Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

39But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Deuteronomy 6:1-9 NKJV

[1] "Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the LORD your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess, [2] that you may fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. [3] Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply greatly as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you-'a land flowing with milk and honey.' [4] "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! [5] You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. [6] "And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. [7] You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. [8] You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. [9] You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
